Pfizer Building Collapse Update (7/7/26 12:07 p.m.)
So the Pfizer building is apparently about to collapse? This morning around 8 a.m. bricks were falling (Update: They were not falling) and after an investigation, it looks like two support columns were buckling.
And to be clear, I’m going off the latest news on the Times site. That is probably the best place to go the latest information.
Access to Tudor City is shut off to cars currently and 43rd and 42nd are shut down over to third avenue. Walking back from Grand Central, I was able to walk over to 1st Avenue via 45th street and then up the stairs to get home safely.
There’s also a bunch of people hanging out over on 43rd and 2nd, but that seems like a really bad idea.
